MUSIC LINKS

Nauck's Vintage Records
Kurt Nauck operates, what I consider, simply the best vintage record auction. I've gotten a number of 78 rpm recordings from him. His site not only has the current auction listings, but also a huge number of other collecting resources. I usually get to see Kurt at the annual Antique Phonograph Show in Union Illinois the second weekend of June.

Kiddie Record King
This guy has done a great job documenting recordings made for children. I remember a great many of the records he has featured on the site. His Links Page contains an extensive list of recording novelties, societies and collecting information.

Basic Hip Oddio
If you enjoy somewhat strange and obscure music, try this place. All of your basic Hip Bachelor Pad music needs can be found among the well documented categories.

FRIENDS

André Hellig
"Sprechen die Deutsch" - Andre is a recent acquaintance who has introduced me to the German world of oldies. He is the author of Elvis on 78, a fascinating look at Elvis recordings issued world-wide on 78 rpm. He also writes for the German oldies magazine Rockin' Fifties.

A Florida music collector, originally from Philadelphia, and sometime DJ who admits to being a friend of Uncle Russie!

Uncle Russie
A Florida disc jockey with a interesting oldies program - check out his web site and find the link to listen to his show on the internet.

Brian Lee
A collector and disc jockey from Sacramento, California. His site has some fascinating music, images and links to his radio show on Saturday evenings.

A collector and musician with ties to Milwaukee. Now living in California, he's written a comprehensive volume about Wisconsin rock bands called Do You Hear That Beat.

Doo Wop Dave
This is collector friend I haven't seen in awhile, even though I live only a mile away from him. I was told he thought I was dead. Those reports are premature! He has a fantastic collection of music which he showcases on a Live 365 program.

Bobaloo
My son is a stand-up comedian working out of Los Angeles. His website is full of interesting and insightful commentary on popular culture. He and his partner Paul are responsible for my new website design. Thanks guys!

GENERAL INTEREST

Wisconsin Outdoor Theaters
My friend Chuck Bruss' comprehensive site about Wisconsin drive-in movies

Dave's Electric Railroads
I have had a long love affair with model railroads, especially trolleys, street cars and interurbans. This is a huge site with numerous photos of prototype equipment. Great street scenes of your hometown back in the good old days!

Milwaukee Horror Hosts
For everyone who ever stayed up late watching monster movies on Friday and Saturday night. This site has complete biographies of all the Milwaukee television hosts of such shows as Nightmare Theater. Doctor Cadaverino was one of my favorites. There are also program lists detailing the movies shown and a wonderful set of links.

Chippewa Falls / Rice Lake
I'm planning to retire in 18 months (who's counting!) and this is the part of Wisconsin where I plan to do it. It's in the far Northwest part of the state about an hour East of Minneapolis-St. Paul. Wisconsinites call this area "Up North," full of little places with colorful histories. I check once a week for real estate, fishing reports and small town news.

Tyrell Corporation
I have always enjoyed science fiction and have read everything from Isaac Asimov to Jules Verne. I'm something of a closet Trekkie and have enjoyed many of the newer movies. This is a new site that proports to be documenting 20th Century history for use in the memory banks of a series of automotons being developed with artificial intelligence. A growing database will feature memories (nostalgia) and Aural History (music files). Check it out for a sci-fi twist to blogging.
